LG is plunging into the Gaming laptop segment with their UltraGear gaming series and they just launched their first laptop in the series – the LG UltraGear 17G90Q.
So let’s see what they stirred in with the announcement they made. They seemed to have splashed some high-end specs here. While the exact processor is not mentioned, it is most likely powered with Intel Core i7-11800H. To handle all the hot games, they have included NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics card. You also get upto 32GB of DDR4 RAM, there are two RAM slots. Storage can go up to 1TB and you get two M.2 slots for future expansion.
You also get a larger 17.3-inch display, with a FullHD (1920 x 1080p ) resolution. For ultra smooth gaming, you are treated with a 300Hz refresh rate. LG states the display covers 99% of sRGB.
The keyboard has RGB lighting thrown in and you can custom it per-key lighting. The UltraGear App gives stats on CPU, CPU clock, memory share rate etc.
An interesting addition, is a fullHD webcam above the display, which should be encouraging for streamers. It also supports Windows Hello facial recognition.
A 93Whr battery, should give the power hungry machine, a decent battery life. The machine measures 21.4mm in thickness and weighs around 2.7kg.
